Why we clap in front of Chandikeswara?
We should not clap infront of chandikeswarar as it disturb Chandikeswara from Dhyana.
Chandikeswara is a greatest devottee of Lord Shiva. He always in Dhyana in shiva temple.
Chandikeswara is the chief accountant of Shiva and shiva temple. So, before leaving Shiva temple, we should go to chandikeswara and rub our hands gently without making any sound to tell him that we are not taking anything from Shiva temple.
This rubbing of hand to tell the accountant of the temple, Chandikeswara, changed to clapping of hands and people started telling that chandikeswara can’t hear properly. It is totally wrong. He always thinks about lord shiva and he will be in dhyana. So, hereafter, please do not disturb chandikeswara by clapping your hands. Gently rub your hands infront of chandikeswar to let him know that you have not taken the asset of Lord shiva.

சிவ ஆலயங்களில் சண்டிகேஸ்வரர் முன் கை தட்டுவது ஒரு பெரிய பாவ செயல். சண்டிகேஸ்வரருக்கு காது கேக்காது என்று வேறு கூறி வருகிறோம். அப்படியில்லை.
சண்டிகேஸ்வரர் ஒரு மிக சிறந்த சிவ பக்தர். அவர் எப்போதும் சிவ சிந்தனையிலே
தியானத்தில் இருப்பவர். எனவே அவருக்கு முன் சென்று கை தட்டுவது அவரது தியானத்தை
கலைப்பது போன்றது. எனவே இனி சண்டிகேஸ்வரர் முன் கை தட்டாதீர்கள்.
சண்டிகேஸ்வரர் சிவ பக்தர் மட்டும் இல்லை. சிவனின் சொத்துகளை பாதுகாப்பவர். எனவே சிவ ஆலயங்களை விட்டு செல்லுமுன், சண்டிகேஸ்வரர் முன் சென்று மெதுவாக சத்தம வராமல் கைகளை துடைத்து, சிவன் கோயில் சொத்து எதையும் நாம் எடுத்து செல்லவில்லை என்பதை சண்டிகேஸ்வரர் தியானம் கலையாமல் சொல்லவேண்டும்.
இதுவே முறையாகும். தங்கள் உறவினர்களுக்கும், நண்பர்களுக்கும் இதனை தெரிவிப்பது நமது கடமையும் அல்லவா!
