Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra This Mantra is very very old mantra for health. It appears in Rigveda (1500 BC.. approx. 3500 years ago). The verses re-occurs in Yajurveda and Atharva veda as well.

Step 1. Take sankalpa. (Sankalpa – Spiritual resolve/Vow) Take a oath infront of God Shiva with your name, relevant details (Parents name, Gothra, Nakshatra) and brief Goddess about your problem and inform her that you do the japa 1000 times a day for 125 days (totaling 1,25,000 japas) with a request to protect us from deadly diseases, Heal and cure from our existing diseases, restore good health, remove fears, Rehabilitate and Rejuvenate our body, mind and soul, ensure long life and protect us from calamities, accidents & untimely death, Nurture & Nourish us till the last second of our life. (as the case may be)
Step 2. Time Taken for the Pooja: 2 hours a day.
Step 3. Offerings: As usual, Offer Dheepam, Doop, Pushpam (Flowers), Phalam (Fruits), Naivedyam (Food) & Thamboolam (Betel leaves & nut) Aarti & Namaskarams (namaste) daily.
CAUTION or ADVISE: Sankalpa is an Oath in front of God. Once sankalpa is made, please do not stop or break in between, as you promised to do the japa 1008 times for 108 days.
